The search engine Google has recently released a new and easier design for e-shopping. With the new change, the search giant’s domination of the market has been questioned recently. However, representatives of the firm are confident that this new attempt to further the lead in the online ad space will work great.
Susan Wojcicki, vice president for product management at Google commented that the new format will give advertisers a new way and more tools to inform their customers.
She also said: “While we experiment with new formats, we’ll remain loyal to our core principle: that getting the right ad to the right person at the right time matters. We’re committed to giving you the information you want, regardless of the form in which it might appear.”

In order to increase sales, the online advertisers have recently started to use geolocation to target users in different areas. This technology improves the possibilities of gaining new customers throughout online advertising.
Frank Bobo, Vice President, Digital Element commented:” Targeting ads by country, region—or even city—means a reduction in wasted impressions and increased click-through rates: a double bonus of reduced costs and increased revenue.”
By using the geolocation technology, online marketers can easily target users from all over the world. They will be able to deliver relevant ads to an online audience and this will increase traffic as well as sales.
Bobo also said:”Target ads based on geography - Knowing the geographic region of web visitors enables companies to provide relevant homepage ads, increasing the likelihood of a purchase”.

The recent partnership between Nielsen Corp & the consumer data firm Datalogix, will use offline data to target online advertising. At the present moment there are several ad networks offering this service.
Justin Evans, SVP strategy and marketing, The Nielsen Company, said: “It’s all about building that bridge between an address-level database and online. You have to have a really rich consumer database linked to many cookies and many consumers online in order to operationalize this capability.”
The data that Nielsen provides uses postal zip codes and it has the advantage that it doesn’t need customer names to target single households. Evans said:”As far as the marketer is concerned, you are only a ‘Country Squire’”.
This system will allow ad networks to determine which PRIZM segments are more adequate for online advertising.

Google is well-known to be number one in the market for its Ad Wods and Ad Sense programs, however, Facebook’s Self-Serve Ads will make Google to rethink its strategy.
According to the article, Facebook will be the first to compete against Google and it will grow “no less quickly than Google did”.
The Business Insider published the following comments about Facebook’s growing:” That prediction may sound premature considering that Facebook this year will produce somewhere between $300 to $500 million in revenue, and skeptics still routinely question Facebook’s ability to turn a profit on its 300 million members.”
The article also referred to:”Take a close look at Facebook Ads, the company’s new ad platform, and you’ll see for yourself how that profit is going to happen.”
Google will need to improve its strategy if the giant search engine wants to compete against Facebook.

Christmas is coming and everybody is getting ready to boost revenues in this short period of time. Ebay Inc. is one of the companies launching a new online campaign.
The Wall Street Journal posted the following in its article about Ebay:”The ad push, which features the tagline “Come to think of it, eBay,” follows a two-year effort by the online auctions pioneer to turn around its slumping marketplace. The campaign, which includes print, online and TV ads, will run through Christmas. EBay declined to say how much it was spending.”
Ebay reported for the first time that last year revenue increased in the third quarter. Ms. Norrington, president Ebay’s marketplace operations, commented:” We see a clear stabilization in the business as well as in the U.S. economy. We feel confident enough that it’s time to go out and re-engage consumers with the eBay brand.”
Hopefully, this early strategy will help Ebay to have a significant increase in revenues for this year.
